The Periphery

rose's webzone, not recommended for most humans

Hello! On the off chance you've encountered this page without being someone I already know: I'm Rose, I'm a woman somewhere in the elbow of the tristate area working on art, critical writing, and whatever other table scraps of creative outlets I can so get my hands on. This page is my attempt to catalogue existence in a manner that exists outside of the psychological strictures of the normal internet which make it generally hard for me to co-exist in online spaces without doing so at the expense of my emotional health.

I came to this particular point in the convergence of several odd personal desires, wanting to fulfill my own needs for a layer of remove from the high-gloss, all-in-one-place internet, wanting to more openly share work in multiple mediums, none of which I'm very good at but I want you to see that I'm trying nonetheless, because it's preferable to barely existing at all yknow...REGARDLESS. Wanting to put my "Self" forward on simplest terms, I came to this as the best compromise for replacing the things I "liked" about social media.

The website, after these introductory paragraphs, will be organized hereon like this: There will be 1 post a day throughout the calendar year of 2025, some of them will be idle nonsense, some will be journal scraps, hopefully a good chunk will be hyperlinks to some creative effort or another, work-in-progress or finished. These posts will be demarcated on this page solely by two notes: The date, and a small heart symbol next to those hyperlinks which signify finished pieces of work. On their separate pages outside the site, whatever contextualization I feel like giving to an object will be provided (in some cases, none). To mangle some words I've been chewing over: "Not knowing if the work is good or bad is a desirable state to be in." So I will work regardless.
